In 2009, Junior Achievement established a Scholarship Fund to honor the dedication and commitment of former Board Chair and 20-year board member, Steve Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan had a noteworthy career, working as Senior Vice President Communications, Liberty Mutual Group, Boston, until his retirement in February 2009.

In 2023, the $10,000 scholarship award will be presented to one current high school junior who best represents the goals and mission of Junior Achievement through successful participation in JA programs. This student will become the JA Student of the Year with the expectation that they will be engaged with JA and will attend college/community college in the fall of 2024.

In addition to presenting the $10,000 scholarship, 3-5 additional junior applicant finalists will become JA Ambassadors and will receive $2,000 each. They will be asked to speak at various events, programs, Board meetings, and more. We are grateful to Steve and his wife for continuing their commitment to making college more affordable to JA's stellar students.
